Am thinking along this line myself, To lift laundry baskets from downstairs laundry room up into upstairs closet. Figure I could fasten the "door track" vertically to the wall. Build a frame using the door rollers to fit between the track. Then build a platform for the laundry basket to sit on. I would want a second platform down lower under the first to be a "fire stop" when the basket is up in the closet. It would cover the opening so there is no hole in the ceiling for a possible fire to sweep up through. Haven't really went passed the "thinking part" yet. It may need some light helper springs to help take the load up. (much like a garage door has but lighter maybe. Just ideas at this time.
