[DIY] Re: floor drain in wet rooms

In commercial, I would have liked to see a floor drain outside all showers, but in a residential kitchen, I can foresee a lot of women complaining about floor slope, or spike heels going into the grate, or odors.  When moving around a lot in small spaces (the kitchen triangle), you do not want anything that would make you have to constantly look at the floor.  Additionally, if you did not keep the trap wet by adding water every few days, you can get odor problems, or even bugs from the sewer, so you only want drains/ traps where actively used.  In commercial, you usually have (someone) that can go around quickly/ regularly putting water in drains of inactive areas.
