Motion sensors usually detect a change in infrared energy. The light generally has a lens to focus the light on a sensor. I don't know if your Zenith has a separate photodetector lens. If so, you might try placing a piece of duct tape across the motion sensing lens to mask the light from the IR detector.

Motion detection uses infra red, so blocking it would work. Not sure what your budget is, but look here:
