The ethanol makes the fuel lines turn brittle in 2-4 years, (vs 5-8?), and leaves a white, calcium-like residuein the carb.  The premix price always amazes me at $24-25-gal, which does not work well when you are using a gallon/ so/ day chainsaw milling, so I buy ethanol-free and mix my own, but many shops now recommend a canned fuel/ premix if only for winter storage.  However, a minimum shop fee to inspect/ test is usually $30.  2-cycle mix additives do add about $0.75-$1.25/gal, but that is not $25/gal

For 4-cycle, they do also have the 4-cycle canned fuel now, too
