Re: [DIY] No hot water in dishwasher

I don't know Dale.  Is it possible there is always enough cold water in the 3' line to make the difference.  This is a high efficiency modelI removed the filters and the ultra fine filter.  Both had undissolved detergent goop in them but nothing else.  I cleaned and replaced them.  I did find a plastic piece laying in the bottom of the dishwasher that I had no idea where it came from or what it was.  Getting the parts etc info on-line with GE leaves something to be desired.  Removed the hot water connection….checked, hot water from the faucet and through the connection.  Put it back and checked…..water only 80 degrees.  Took it off again, pulled the DW out from the counter and checked the connection at the other end.  Did see a part on the side that was loose, further investigation proved that the loose part in the dishwasher was supposed to connect through the side to the part outside…….Not sure what it is but when we tried it again and didn't have them tight enough we got water all over the floor and none in the DW.  Got it all together again, ran water in the sink to 140 degrees.  1st fill was 80 degrees, 2nd fill is about 110.  Third fill it's 120 degrees — however the cycle is a little over half completed and the detergent would have been opened at the second fill — not hot enough to dissolve. Won't fill again till it rinses.  We normally use the light cycle since it's just the two of us and we still rinse the dishes.  I'm thinking a full double cycle might improve it but you're talking over 2 hours to wash a light load of dishes.

I am out of ideas.  If I call GE and nothing is wrong I have to pay for a service call.  If I call the contractor I have to pay for a call.  The one who put the lines in was the plumber - who charges $75 an hour to come out.
