(Example) Maytag DW has a rubber seal around around the soap door latch. If this seal leaks, soapy water leaks onto/ into the electric (solenoids/ heaters?) of the soap dispenser, and they then quit working. If the seal leaks, it can be the cause of water leaking from the door. Complete repair parts (used to be?) about $35. This may/ may not be your case.
