The hot water line runs about 27" inside the cabinet (temp average 60) - maybe another 24" to cross the back of the DW, and come up underneath where it connects. Just tested… a 1/2" pipe x 24" long - holds slightly less than 4oz. So, even if the line was 4' long and 1/2" in diameter, it wouldn't hold over 8 oz. Doesn't seem like that's enough to dilute the hot water coming in that much. I'll have to do some more testing with this theory.
Evidently dishwashers do not note how much water goes in - just fills to a point that activates the control panel……my water level is to the correct notch so it's getting plenty of water. GE says the profile uses 5gal a cycle — but doesn't specify which cycle. I purchased this because it has the best reviews of all the new ones, even beating out much more expensive models - though you can't call these cheap :)
