Re: [DIY] orange peel wall texture

In one room that I recently had painted, it looks like an orange peel texture, even though I didn't intend it that way. I don't know why it came out that way -- I had a friend paint it, I am sure he did not intend for that slight texture (it does not cover all imperfections -- in fact, more I think about it, I MIGHT go with a flat rather than eggshell for the rest of the apartment because it reflects less light thus less imperfection shines through). But the texture looks very, very pretty, I enjoy looking at it. HE says it is because the drywall had a certain texture. That may be, but I don't see it reflected in the other walls of the apt. Maybe it was the roller; I don't know. But I do know that I like the little texture there.

orange peel isn't that hard to paint. more nap on the roller was all I needed. don't know about trying to remove it though. but if you put it on to cover imperfections why would you remove it? its not deep and looks pretty good if done right. you can even buy it in spray cans to do touch ups.

Textured walls cover a multitude of imperfections, but they are a real pain
to repaint and when you decide to remove the texture, and you will, it will
be a major hassle to try to fix.

If I do my walls with orange peel texture, would that cover up a lot of
flaws? Also -- I suppose I would definitely have to hire a professional
painter because there is no way I could handle a sprayer.
