In order to appreciate the present it is sometimes good to have another look at the past. This 16 minute English film from the 1930's shows the building of a locomotive engine from start to finish and it is good to note the complete lack of safety procedures and equipment. No gloves, hardhats, safety shoes, wrist restraints, heat aprons, ear plugs, goggles or any of the other safety requirements of today. The whole operation makes one appreciate the conveniences and power equipments of today.
