Re: [DIY] need tips on removing spray popcorn fr ceiling and finding inexpensive paint

Spray it with a soapy water mix, let soak, keep damp, and remove with a wide putty knife.  Work in small sections and spread a drop cloth to catch the mess.  This in assuming that no one has already tried to cover it up with a coat of paint.

If you have a Habitat for humanity resale store near you - they have paint for cheap. Some partially used some new and even 5 gal buckets. You can always tint it yourself. Ray On 4/20/2013 10:58 PM, T S wrote:
I'm a new owner of a really old house. There are hundreds of projects on the horizon. Anyway, I'm on an almost nonexistent budget and wondered if anyone knows where/brand/how to get inexpensive but not cheap interior paint. I want to start with the living room first. I have small pets and kids, so I need something that I can clean easily. I've looked on This Old House, but that stuff is expensive. Wanted to get info from actual people that have used the products. Thanks!
