Re: [DIY] Corrugated Roofing

Thanks Ray.  That had never occurred to me about the screw placement.  Great point.  I would have instinctively screwed them down on the flat portions of the corrugated.

I will likely have to install a slim piece in the center between two wider pieces in order to fulfill the coverage.  Any thoughts on whether to have the smaller piece in the center (maybe 6" wide) overlap the 2 wider pieces....or to have the 2 wider pieces overlap the slimmer piece in the center?  Or does it matter?

Rounded works best. You can use screws or nails w/rubber sealing washer. Nail at the tops of the corrugations. This directs water away fron the nails and reduces chance of leaks.

Plastic requires you use boards to distribute loads when you walk on it.

Does anyone have any experience or first hand knowledge about corrugated roofing?  I've done a little reading on it but am also looking for personally experienced knowledge.

Metal vs. Plastic.
What's the best shape to get (rounded, flat, squared) or purposes of each.
What type of fasteners and any tips on installation.
Also, are those corrugated molds used to support/seat the roofing actually necessary.

Thanks for any tips.
