RE: [DIY] Corrugated Roofing

All depends on what you want it for, used the galvanized corrugated for the goat shed, chicken coop, used Ondura corrugated fiber for the porch roof, for a house I would use Z lock for my house(will be our next roof), quite a few folks here use the flat panels for their roof installed with the washered screws, but the screws have to be tightened periodically(not so with z-lock), also you need an air gap between the roof deck and the metal (if you are putting it on an existing roof) use furring strips..the corrugated molds are to seal the air gap, only have used them over a screened in porch to close out bugs

Subject: [DIY] Corrugated Roofing

Does anyone have any experience or first hand knowledge about corrugated roofing?  I've done a little reading on it but am also looking for personally experienced knowledge.

Metal vs. Plastic.

What's the best shape to get (rounded, flat, squared) or purposes of each.

What type of fasteners and any tips on installation.

Also, are those corrugated molds used to support/seat the roofing actually necessary.

Thanks for any tips.
