Hi Jamie, I don't know anything about your plumbing problems but I can empathize with your situation.  We just sold our house and was so frustrating. The buyer didn't recognize the inspectors name so ordered one from someone "she could trust".   We spent $12,000 5yrs ago to have a complete new roof installed with a 30 year guarantee by one of the best companies in town.  The buyers inspector said the roof was old and probably only had 5 years left in it - even though we had noted on our disclosure it was only 5yrs old.   Also wanted a moisture barrier under the house even though it was completely dry and always had been.  Insisted we needed to install a new damper since it didn't open — when our ventless gas logs were installed the damper was sealed shut.  Suggested we add more support under the house — the contractor who came out said the house was actually overbuilt, instead of double joists, we had three,  the inspector didn't know what he was talking about. I suspect he had to look like he earned his money.  You feel like they get you coming and going, LOL.
