I don't know if this one has a button but definitely has a timer. I think it will be fine, just have to get used to it.

There was a This Old House show where they added a recirc with a remote control at upper bath and timer, so you would push a button when you entered bath and it would run (5-10-minutes?), which gave you hot water a minute or so later WITHOUT DUMPING IT down the drain. Running on timer minimizes daily expense, and minimizes wear/ tear on the system/ replacement. Even when using toilet briefly, you had HW available for hand washing. A win-Win Option
