Thanks Bob, Skylights would give more light but not help with the problem of not being able to see out. We need to be able to see down to the gate etc without having to get up and stand on tiptoe.
We do have skylights in the barn area and they are wonderful - however, they occasionally leak. We fix one, another leaks. None are very bad and since it was a barn, no one was concerned. However, since we plan to have living area down there, we are looking for ways to fix them permanently before we finish up the ceiling and walls. I really don't want to take them out.
