Haven't painted one but did have it resurfaced. Cost $400 and looked like a new tub - it's not as glass smooth but looked good. They do all the jet covers, and can do the surround - sink everything if you like. We just had the tub done, they guarantee it for 5 yrs. Much cheaper than a new tub, done in one day and really does look nice.
