Been a while, but from memory, the hose screws directly onto the solenoid. 1) If the screens in solenoids at the hose connections are not clogged, 2) check the push-on wire connectors going to the solenoids; corrosion/ rust or loose connection here can cause intermittent operation; 3) timer going bad can also cause problem; 4) Water level selector switch connections, or 5) water level switch/ connections HOPE this helps Terry/ Memphis
