So Ive now paid for 2 different pest control companies total $230, no captures, no definitive resolve. I basically paid for some "tips"
So i must ask, Ive now resolved some potential ingresses, but there is a major concern with what I believe to be the 1st addition/ crawl space on the South/front of house. I didnt realize until this 2nd guy crawled into my dug out basement that there was another crawl (i have 2: south-1st add /north-2nd add, 1pad-3rd addon, 1hand dug original section).
How do I investigate this dark shallow area that has openings into my basement but they are covered with makeshift fiber batt. Its a frightening prospect to take a flashlight into this upper enclosed storage section of the basement and pull away some of the batting in order to get a clue whats going on in there.
I suspect there are rotted openings into my house since its originally a 1940 shack that has been owned by simple folk, then I came along and gave the suburban neighborhood, eye candy, by way of my cosmetic facelift, however, here we are discovering a not so pretty underside, perhaps it should have just been torn down, IMO, so I never would have fallen for this inflated suburban taxation of an old rodent shack. Rambling so you may have pity on me? Sure! A little.
Also, ive heard but dont believe this- mice do not burrow in ground! I say they do! Once i finish investigating for sealing lower sill plate/foundation areas of the south and east section of this old house, ill know for sure.
