Re: [DIY] Fracking and now that you mention it.

It is difficult to know where genuine concern and pandering meet on the political front.  The bottom line however is that there are risks in every endeavor and how much risk is justifiable to achieve a goal.  They say they don't want energy from coal because of the carbon, they don't want energy from nuclear because of the risk and waste disposal, they don't want energy from natural gas because of the risk of drilling for it, they don't want energy or a million other byproducts from oil because of global warming,  they don't want energy from wind because the turbines clutter the view and the blades confuse and may be killing the birds.  There comes a time when true leaders, of which the world has a very real shortage right now, may be forced to say, "Go To Hell, This Is What We Are Going To Do" and is willing to stand by or fall upon his own sword.

Yeah, like the movie promised land, funded by the UAE and full of lies and propaganda, and the fact that the gov. of NY won’t release the report that he commissioned on Fracking because the report does not demonize the practice. There is more natural gas coming out of the ground on it’s own in western NY, just google fire falls in NY…

There are several good videos on u-tube describing the drilling, cementing and fracturing process.  When agendas are in play there does not need to a valid concern. They come come up will all kinds of claims, many of which were ludicrous.  You have to keep in mind that the petroleum industry got its start in Pennsylvania  and the oil and gas of that day was less than 200 foot under the surface.  They were really looking for water and kept hitting this black goo, and they did not know what it was. At these shallow depths it is reasonable to assume that natural cross contamination has occured.    It is sometimes very interesting to follow the money and see who is footing the bill for these protests.

Isn't the concern with fracking is the chemical runoff?

I have to be honest, I'm not well versed about what is really involved.

Fracking, is another of those new words that the uninformed or perhaps well informed has begun to use to scare a whole other set of individuals that have no desire to become informed as long as they can feel good because they are a part of something, anything.  And oh BTW, make a ton of easy money in the process.  I spent nearly 7 years covering the central united states running spectral gamma ray equipment in oil wells and looking for the natural fractures that are deep underground.  Believe me when I tell you that the earth is a broken place and filled with natural fractures which is exactly the zones that are being exploited by hydraulic fracking.  The fractured are already there, they are simply cleaning the out a little and using graded sand to keep them slightly propped oven.   Fracking has been going on without incident since the 40's, but up until now there wasn't any money to be made by trying to shut down the petroleum industry in the US.  My solution is simple, if they don't want gas and petroleum produced, ban them from any benefit derived from its use.  This should do wonders for the Amish faith.

I am not nearly so concerned about any microbes (especially with all the [toxic] chlorine compounds they put) in the water, as I am with all the TOXIC CHEMICALS that end up in our water! Agrigultural poisons of all kinds (which are used even more on GMO crops), all the dumping of all the factories all around the world, the "cleaning" chemicals that WE flush down our little personal drains, more and more "fracking" deathly toxins, the probably-permanent leakage from the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico, etc., etc., not to mention the mind-bogglingly huge amount of pharmaceutical drugs that Americans are swallowing now, which then get slightly changed before exiting the body and going INTO OUR WATER !!!
