[DIY] Water Level Control:

There is the possibility that a small piece of lint or other crud has lodged itself in the hose leading from the bottom of the tub to the control.  Since you are going to need to remove the control anyway to replace it, why not make a couple of quick checks first.  Remove the hose from the control and see if you can blow through the tube to make sure it is clear.  Next blow into the control itself to see if it is working.  The control consists of a diaphragm which operates on water column pressure.   As the tub fills it the water rises in the tube compressing the air that has been trapped between the tub and the sensor.  When the water reaches the desired height the pressure causes the diaphragm to trip the switch in the sensor shutting off the fill valves.  You can either use a meter to check the sensor, or you can listen for the switch to open and shut.   A short hose will also let you operate the sensor and the solenoids as you blow into the sensor while the machine is filling.  Sensor failures are very rare though they do occur.
