Re: [DIY] Kitchen Faucet Replacement Question

Perhaps I should have phrased this differently.  Does the faucet work normally if there is no electrical power to it and does it need to be plugged into and electrical outlet or is it battery powered?

Hi All,

The kitchen faucet was in bad need of being replaced, but I had been avoiding it since I don't relish working under the sink amidst the tangle of pipes, with my back jammed on top of the hard-edged toe kick. But, it had to be done.

I wanted to try one of the "Touch-On' faucets, and since I did, wanted to report on it to you all.

It was extremely easy to install. Getting the old faucet's waterlines disconnected was much more time consuming than dropping in the new faucet. It is very well designed for ease of installation, including attached waterlines which connect straight into the shut-off valves.

The faucet has been working very well for me, and suits my needs well. I frequently have my hands in sticky and greasy food mixtures, and am in the dirt a lot during growing season. The touch-on allows us to use a clean part of the arm to turn on the water: wet the fingers, soap up, then rinse off, all while avoiding dripping the whole dirty wet mess onto the faucet body, faucet handle, and/or sink back deck.

While researching product reviews, I found one (review) with four posted reviews in which one of the reviewers hated everything about this faucet. I guess this is a case of "know thyself." It may not be right for everyone, but I have found it extremely convenient and easy to use. Temperature and water pressure adjustments are easily made with a nudge from a clean arm, as well.

Just wanted to alleviate any concerns anyone might have about whether or not this type of product works.

P.S.: One brand is not very well made, so if you go this route, be sure to get brand help from the plumbing department staff.
