Really? I find it just the opposite. Too little syrup and too much carbonated water. I guess you have been "brainwashed"
into liking the cheaper, weaker mix. With anything, we tend to use the 1st way we know something as the standard and any deviation from it is "hard to swallow".

Well at least it used to. I have fond memories of sipping a rare fountain coke on a sweltering Kansas afternoon, and the stuff they are serving up now either is totally different or my taster is broken. Bottled coke had a bite with a hint of bitters but now it seems it is like drinking some nondescript diluted syrup which has neither bite nor hint of charachter.
