I used to work in the food industry, and know that a good profit is made on the sodas. A little syrup goes a long way. I hardly ever order soda when we're out, I usually order water with lemon. It works for me.

I was talking about the old drug store fountains, which only exist in museums now. I'm just sure that the syrup they were using 65-70 years ago was different than what we are getting at the automated "fountains" of today. I seem to recall that they changed formulas so as not to conflict with the lining of the cans that are being used now. Oh well, everything has changed and the younger generation will never know the difference.
