Too late! they're plastic, and I installed them today, before tiling. It doesn't look like that'll be a problem.

I'm making creeping progress on this project.
Do I install the extension boxes before or after tiling the backsplash?
I was going to do it before, but am not certain exactly how to account for
the depth of the tile--seems like it would be easiest to mount them after
the tile is in place, but maybe there's something I don't know?
