You can buy repair ends for garden hose at a hardware store. You cut off the old fitting, push the new end into the hose, and tighten the clamp that comes with the part. You can get several kinds of plastic ends, or several kinds of brass ends. I prefer the brass ones that secure with a hose clamp.
