You might try getting a book out of the library (or searching online).  When my washer pump stopped working, I was able to 1) locate the pump and 2) mess with it until it started working again.  A few months later, I got the book again to guide me in replacing the pump.  That was so long ago that the internet wasn't very useful...

extra warranty or repair contract & I wouldn't get it -  maybe I should have taken it 'cause if replacing a screw that had fallen out & he found it on the floor cost
