a larger needle nose on one side and regular pliers on

if they will separate?

There is nothing holding the screw in, as far as I can tell. The screw is hard to describe--a regular screwdriver won't work on it. I've spent about an hour looking at images online trying to find one like it, but have not been successful--except for getting a whopping headache!!  :'(      Anyway, coming out of the board, you see part of the screw, then a round metal piece that you can grip with the side of the pliers, but it is only about 1/8" thick. Then, instead of having a depression like a normal screw, there is a what looks like a flat head screw driver sticking out of the middle of it, for probably 3/16". If you try to pull it out with the pliers straight on, the pliers just slide right off. I tried to get a closer picture, but it's pretty crowded in there, and the pics I did get were not clear at all--very pixeled. The picture to the right shows where one of the cams was (lower left)--and the screw in the upper right is definitely not a cam. The bottom picture is not the same, but it's the closest I could find to what my desk looks like. I was not able to find any manual for it.

Post a picture please..of the offending screw and side of board..
is there by any chance a screw-like piece PERPENDICULAR
to the offending screw? (holding it in place)..some require a
90 degree turn of the second screw/holder/pin to remove the
first screw??

PS
Google the desk and find the manual and post the link perhaps?

I have "remodeled" one part of a chipboard/compressed board computer desk, but there is one screw that I can't remove, and it is right where I need the space to place some articles. I have pulled/yanked/ wiggled and everything else I could thing of--on it many times, with no success. Any ideas as to how to remove this? Thank you.
