Re: [DIY] Re: Stained bathtub

Thank you everyone. CLR did nothing. Perhaps I did not let it set long enough. 10 to 15 minutes. Next I mixed muratic acid in water. I was wondering if I mixed it too light. About 1/4 cup to 2 quarts of water. It loosened some. I used a pumice stone and scraped gently with a paring knife and removed some.

I then mixed the muratic acid stronger... maybe 3/4 cup to 2 quarts of water. Let it set for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinsed and used the pumice stone and removed more.

I will be working on the tub in another couple of weeks.

Is there anything I can mix with the muratic/water mixture to help it stick more? Fuller's earth? I would feel better if so much did not run down the drain. I can not stop up the drain because the drain lid is welded in place with lime/rust

CLR Brand (Calcium, Lime Rust); follow label directions, but may take some time;
also, the purple spray works well on SOAP deposits, if you spray, LET SIT 5-15 minutes and scrub with 3M pads.  The purple bottle spray is TV brand, or some store brands now
