Re: [DIY] Pictures for Hot water connections

Outside temp right now, 41 and misty.  Inside temp 72.6  Temp overnight in the cabinet where line is was 60.  Not checked inside DW and have to wait till it cools off.  As for the recirclator - don't even know how to check such things.  It's just a little "box" connected (?) low on the water heater, line goes up and into the wall, similar to the normal hot water line - and both lines are hot to the touch.  I'd have to look again to see if there is another return line there.

The DW comes with a blanket of insulation that goes over the top and both sides.  I've thought I might put a layer of insulation on the wall behind it - but not sure that would be worth the trouble, since the DW itself is well insulated.

The 3rd fill, 30 minutes into the cycle is registering 124F.  GE manual says "The entering water should be at least 120F and not more that 150F for effective cleaning and to prevent dish damage.  Check the water temperature with a meat thermometer.  Turn on the faucet nearest the DW place the thermometer in a glass and let the water run continuously into the glass until the temp stops rising.

One thought:  what is room/ air temp?  Cold/ snow where you live? Are you keeping space at 70'f, or 55'f?  What is the temperature inside a dry DW pan, first thing in the morning?  (I.e coldest part of day)  Are you dumping 2-1/2-gal of 120'f water into a 4-5 sq. feet of 45-50'f (or colder) steel pan?

2) (re: recirc pump) WHAT is the temp of the water/ water pipe at the circ pump return pipe? (maybe even a few feet away from pump on the return side)
