The voles have not come in yet, but one did climb a screen door. They don't seem to be afraid of people like the mice are. They are actually kind of cute but are burrowing and eating the roots of all the plants. The bucket idea is really clever. I don't know if I can bring myself to do it, but maybe the hubby will. I will cover the cold intake return and look for tiny places where they can crawl in. I just had a friend tell me that steel wool in those tiny cracks will help deter them. I did find steel wool at the dollar store. Any more ideas will be appreciated concerning the voles and thanks so much for all your suggestions.
