Over the years I have used several of the cheaper motion fixtures, and disassembled a few after failure; I have found insects, moisture corrosion and even blown resistors; My suspicion is that lightning and power surges do most damage, but moisture/ corrosion can causes more your symptoms. Unfortunately, I cannot advise if the higher priced fixtures cure these problems; I can say replacement is the only cure Terry/ Memphis
