Some fans come with a balance kit, which has a Plastic weight you clip on the blade and then when you have a better balance, you add an adhisive weight to the ceiling side blade.  you might check the stores that sell the fans, and see if they have the balance kits sold seperate.

We have a ceiling fan about 20' high. It is not balanced and makes noise when it turns. Does anyone know how to balance it so it will turn smoothly?
