Not sure of the reasons (I am sure are sound) for
a roof...however...I did an awning on my deck for
10% of the cost of adding a roof...maybe 5%..it was
a 22 x 12 awning and electric ...is wonderful..
just roll up when it snows...and then can even use
after the snow falls and the sun comes out..
(south facing deck to the deck snow melts fast)
