Here is the door: Dale, will you please share a photo of the door(s)? The cost of clear lumber when I needed to build walk through doors for my shop was out of the question and I did not want to use steel doors since the opening are non-standard, so it came down to choices knots or "no Visible knots" and I opted for No Visible knots or screw heads. The door was constructed using 2x6 construction grade planks "somewhat selected" at the yard. I thickness planned the blanks to 1 inch and edge doweled and glued the main inside panel Then using a frame and X brace pattern I attached the 1 inch outside surface of the door using a very liberal number of counter sunk deck screws, and yes it was ugly at first appearance. I had been careful to avoid any knots at or close to the edge when I selected the lumber I would use. After everything had been glued using gorilla water impervious glue, screwed, and assembled I sanded and routed and then using several coats of automotive body putty I filled all of the screw holes and covered all of the knots. When sanded and painted all the blemishes were gone and the door is beautiful looking about as smooth as a steel door. The body putty is totally Water Proof as opposed to "Rock Hard" which is not. Several neighbors have wondered where I found my doors and I've graciously offered to build them one "for a price" but so far no takers, which is fine by me.
