[DIY] Re: Mice exclusion

Tori,

I'm pretty sure they do (burrow). I've had a few smart (or maybe not so smart) mice in the garage avoid heading into the trap, and get caught by a leg. They drag the trap to a split in the concrete in the garage floor and try to get away underground. A little hard to accomplish with a trap attached to your leg, but they do try.

I don't often read the postings of this group, so haven't been following if you have already tried your own traps. The JAWZ brand traps are inexpensive, easy to set, easy to release for resetting, and very competent at catching the intruders. A very small dab of peanut butter is all that is needed.

It would be good if you could eliminate them before they make more babies and expect you to feed and support the whole clan. I wouldn't want to examine any dark spaces, either, but I wouldn't mind setting traps nearby.

Sorry if you're rolling your eyes because this has all been discussed ad nauseum. As I mentioned, I don't often read the posts; I scan the digest for topics I'm interested in and limit myself to those, otherwise I would spend my whole day in front of this screen.

I didnt realize until this 2nd guy crawled into my dug out basement that there was another crawl (i have 2: south-1st add /north-2nd add, 1pad-3rd addon, 1hand dug original section).

Its a frightening prospect to take a flashlight into this upper enclosed storage section of the basement and pull away some of the batting in order to get a clue whats going on in there.

Rambling so you may have pity on me? Sure! A little.
