[DIY] Traveling outlets

It always seemed that there never was an electrical outlet where I needed it, especially for the table tools I wanted to use in the center of the shop area.  My solution for years has been to stretch heavy clothes line wire across the overhead of my shops.  I put a large screw eye at each end and use a large turn buckle to draw the wire taught.  I then string a good heavy extension cord along the wire by tying each loop of the cable to the taught wire using an individual S hook chain link and a nylon tie-wrap.  I then install a wall plug close to one the end of the support wires and after replacing the female end of the extension cord with a 4 inch box and two duplex outlets I then have an outlet that can be moved the length of my shop and it is over head and out of the way.  I also stretch wires to be used as hangers for my gluing clamps and other tools I want to store out of the way.  I have several of these wires and cords running across the shop and use them for both traveling outlets as well as tool hangers.
