Hi. We just moved from Florida to Pennsylvania (about an hour and a/half from Pittsburgh), and wonder why some people live where they do. I've been reading about ideal communities, then find out they're not so ideal. Travel places tout the Caribbean islands, but I hear it's real hot during the summer months. I'm not sure about Canada, but many snowbirds travel to Florida during the winter and go back to Canada in the summer. Southern Florida in the winter is just a beautiful place -- the summers can be very, very hot.
We just bought a residential trailer. We moved here for personal reasons -- friends that we want to be with who could not move to Florida. But I wonder again why people live where they do. Pittsburgh is a very hilly city, yet it is promoted as an up-and-coming place. It is not a place for seniors, imo. The senior citizen residences they have look like factories.
If I had my choice, I wouldn't live there. But then again, if I had my choice, I wouldn't live where I live now, either. Especially in a sweltering area. Well at least Florida has good a/c wherever you go. Except during a power outage -- then things are not so good. :-)
Pennsylvania right now is warming up uncomfortably so, and in the winter it's not so great either.

It's different. There is a common theme in various industries, connected with larger bonus checks for the executives. Like the bird said, "cheap, cheap, cheap."

Subject: Re: [DIY] Coca-Cola usesWell at least it used to. I have fond memories of sipping a rare fountain coke on a sweltering Kansas afternoon, and the stuff they are serving up now either is totally different or my taster is broken. Bottled coke had a bite with a hint of bitters but now it seems it is like drinking some nondescript diluted syrup which has neither bite nor hint of charachter.
