Being in IT for over 30 years I can tell you that usb ports integrated with ac plugs is really a marketing gimmick. It's supposed
to make charging usb devices more convenient. In reality, almost every
usb device I've ever used that needed charging already came with an ac adapter. Given a choice, I'd use an ac charger over usb charger every time since it charges significantly faster (like 2-3x faster).
