Our house was built basement at ground level then fill was brought in and backfilled around the basement. The house actually sits on a man made hill due to a major stream not to far away. I have been thinking of digging out from the basement door across where we park our vehicles, Turning then installing a concrete ramp. This would allow us to use our forklift to move things in and out of the basement. This would also retain our "highwater" out where it belongs. I have searched the internet but can't find how thick to make the top of this tunnel since once finished our vehicles will be parking in that area. Any ideas on thickness?
