The wind howled and the snow and sleet stung the face and hands as I ventured from the house to the shop last night to check on the new finish I had added to the top of one of my work benches. When we awoke this morning the storm had passed but the ground was almost white with about 2 inches of fresh snow. Now it finally feels like Christmas, and while most may not like winter, I look forward to those days when the house is filled with the aroma of fresh baked cookies and the colored lights reflect off the snow. I would be perfectly at home living in central Canada or perhaps Newfoundland, even Alaska would suit my fancy though it gets colder in Kansas than it does in Anchorage because of the Japanese current.
