Freon when heated to temperatures approaching 600°F or there about turns into hydrofluoric acid and phosgene gas. The one will dissolve gold and the other will kill you. Once you have had a burn out of that magnitude it is often cheaper to replace the entire freon related system rather than to take chances with future failures due to the residuals lurking in the tubing that has been reused.
