A friend told me that in the 1960s he worked for a small company with a
mainframe computer. It sometimes worked well but sometimes acted as if it
wasn't getting enough power. He decided to check out the other companies
in their little industrial park. Turned out that one nearby company ran
several heavy-duty arc welders.
