Re: [DIY] ? about plywood floor in trailer

6-mil is like painters plastic drop cloths, but is the
thickest commonly available. It can be had 10 or
20 feet wide. "Clear" or black. I like clear. Cuts
great with scissors or a craft-knife.

Until you cover this, AND tack down the carpet or
etc,
it CAN be extremely slippery!!! Don't rush
around in construction areas!

If you need to tape widths together, skip duct tape.
Try 30-day stucco tape, of the no fiber variety.
It is usually red, about $7-8 per roll, by Scotch or
Nashua
. There are look-alikes with fiber, so look
closely.

Some use 6 mil as a ground cover, in crawl spaces,
under a house. Clean to crawl on, but mainly, retards
earth's moisture from causing humidity under a house.
It acts as a vapor barrier. There's your "underneath,
floor sealer," in effect... ;>)

Some use 6 mil as a cheap glazing for greenhouses /
hoop-tunnel covers. Can last a few years, but where the
real GH stuff is said to last 5 years, this lasts 1 season,
in comparison.
