I think I'll make one of those jugs, because one thing you can never find are dowels made from walnut or other hard woods. There are times when you need a special dowel to repair or hide the repair to a given piece of furniture and his jig is so simple.

Here is a video of him making homemade dowels (unfluted but the "spiral" action from the chisel may help with the glue). The whole video is great but the "magic happens" at 2.36. This guy always has great jigs and/or methods.
