Re: [DIY] Dowels

I'll readily admit that I made very little effort to find positive points about Houston, probably because it already held a large inventory of negatives.  Too hot, To humid, Too big, and Too much traffic.  I lived North of Boston, worked in New York City, and had visited or driven in about every major city in the U.S. on both coasts and through out the center, and found none of them to the liking of this old country boy.  The town we have lived in for the last 20 years has a population of about 1500 and there are times when that is about 1490 too many.  I had always dreamed of living in the north of Idaho or Montana but could never quite figure out how to make a living and support a family in the process, and now I'm too old to change locations.  I've often told my wife that my ideal living conditions would be a big shop built into a semi truck and tailor with a small living quarter in the front end.  A generator, some type of heat and AC, a couple of doors and who needs windows in a bedroom anyway.  I guess I would have made the perfect recluse vagabond carpenter and handyman.  Yep, love and an occasional home cooked meal always gets in the way of the perfect life style.  It being almost valentines day you understand, I'm just setting my romantic stage fit for the occasion.

Houston has a lot of beautiful parts, if you know where to look.  Like any big city, it has its industrial and slum parts.

I live in Pearland, which is a well planned and zoned city, separate from Houston.  I really like it.

You've nailed that one for sure.  Used to have to go down there once a month or so as part of my job.  It is not a city but instead the worlds largest hodge-podge and traffic jam.

Of course I find these deals because I live near Houston, a high price to pay.
