That's funny. I had originally planned to advise a simple chisel (which is strange given that a common sense and simple approach isn't always my strong suit) but figured you had already ruled it out since you requested the osc tool.

OK, I did it. I used the cutter blade instead of the half-circular blade which did not fit into the tight space. I managed to get that piece out, so I'm happy. I now realize that a chisel might have done the same job, but hey, it's done and I'm happy about that. The item cost me $35+ tax, and I will be saving about $100 a yr because the power company is now hopefully able to put up a power saving device in that space. :-) Thanks for your help!
