Re: [DIY] Re: Help with plumbing????

go to hardware store and get a hose adapter to fit the faucets, may need more than one if you have faucets from different manufacturers. connect a hose to the faucet furthest from the water heater and connect the other end to an outside faucet. open the drain on your water heater and turn on the outside faucet to flush the sediment out of your hot water lines, back thru the water heater and out the drain. do this for each faucet and see if flow improves

This won't clear out the pipes but may help it from happening again...

Sometimes sediment and rust and junk collect at the bottom of water heaters.  What some people do is turn off the water heater (and gas if need be).  Connect a hose to the hose spout and then drain the entire water heater to try and flush out as much stuff as possible.  You can place the other end of the house outside or perhaps in a bathtub.

I've had problems with my water heater getting the water hot in the winter.  I read what I mentioned above about sediment and how that can be a cause.  I drained my water heater and saw discolored water but unfortunately the action did not help the water temp.

a while because of no pressure - dh did check all the things on the end of the faucets & they are fine so I guess the line has trash in it -
does anyone know if it can be cleaned out or do the pipes have to be changed - Joyce
