If you have never done a toilet, see if you can find a friend/ relative/ neighbor that has and is willing to help/ coach/ loan tools? It really helps.
TIP: with toilet drained/ removed, on side, thread rope down one side from top, thread back up on other side, hopefully catching the toy, then grab both ropes and (hopefully) dislodge toy, pulling back the way it went in.... (Worst case) replace toilet (might be a good thing/ upgrade, LOL
