Another paint can trick.
Place the lid on the can, then put a paper towel
or scrap of newspaper on top of that. Then press down
on the lid to seal. Any paint in the lip that might splash
up is caught by the paper blotter. Discard paper scrap.
Not so much for prolonging shelf life as not adding
the mess when sealing up the cans.
