Re: [DIY] walls

A layer of plaster over the drywall hardens like concrete and looks the same as drywall. A lot of work though. Special skills are involved here. My house is all plaster, its pretty bullet proof.
Wall tile is another thing that comes to mind.
If the whole wall isn't the problem, wainscoting with various types of materials might be a solution. They used a textured plastic material at work on the walls in the bathrooms, its pretty cheap and presents a hard surface. Don't know where they got it. I know it came in sheets like plywood. Wainscoting is typically created with tongue and groove wood with a header and a footer. But imagination is the only limitation there.

Of course you could always put up fabric, maybe scarves or pretty linens. But don't know if that would stop him from picking either.

I need ideas on what to put  on walls.  My son punches holes in the wall, he likes to pick at stuff, so once theres a hole, he picks at it, and when you fix it he recognizes that area and picks at it.  This is due to brain damage, so the chances of him stopping is minimal.  What should I use on the waslls to minimize the holes and repair the holes.  Thankyou  Cathy
